"The way to fame is a hard one. You must suffer,
and be the butt of jealousy and ill-informed criticism; it is a lonely matter.
One just has to go on doing what you think is right, and doing your duty:
whatever others may say or think; and that is what I try to do."
B.L.Montgomery.
The Specialist 'Monty' Look-alike providing the most authentic
Field Marshal or General Montgomery available for Film, TV and Theatre work, WW2 and '40s Themed Shows & Special Events
at any location. We also have a 1943 Jeep in British 21st Army Group markings available for making that grand entrance at
your corporate event.
To ensure the highest standard of authenticity all items of Monty's uniforms and
clothes, from his early days onwards, right through the 8th Army & 21st Army Group days and his War Office period, are
researched with the utmost attention to historical detail. They are then accurately recreated using either genuine period
clothing and insignia, or only the very highest quality reproductions from the very best of suppliers. And you won't find
me wearing post-war '49 pattern Battledress when it should really be '37 pattern, I am dedicated to providing the
most accurate portrayal of Monty and nothing less will do!
MONTY'S
DIARY
Events covered so far in 2011 include a special appearance at the Coventry Transport Museum's '40s Weekend alongside Monty's 'Victory'
Car, and being interviewed on BBC Radio Coventry's Malcolm Boyden's Saturday show, followed by a
feature in the Coventry Observer. Next came a '40s Tea-dance at Penrhyn Hall in Bangor, North Wales (where
'ITMA' was broadcast from during the war), closely followed by the Penrhyn Castle War-time
Weekend.
The Military
Vehicle Trust's (North Wales Area) Show at Caerwys in Flintshire was a great success, and I was honoured to be
given the 'seal of approval' for authenticity from Normandy veterans who had met Monty in person in 1944 !
A
few weeks later I made a surprise visit to the Severn Valley Railway's '40s Weekend in Bridgnorth,
Shropshire, followed by the British Legion 90th Anniversary event in Llandudno.
I could be found alongside (and sitting inside !) Monty's Rolls-Royce at this year's
'War & Peace Show' at Beltring in Kent, thanks to L/ Cpl John
Arbister & the Royal Logistic Corps museum staff. Next was an appearance with my Jeep at the Classic Car Show
at Vaynol Park in Bangor, and then the Shotton Wartime Weekend hosted by the Military
Vehicle Trust's Manchester area which was a fantastic weekend event despite the weather ! Some very exciting
events and appearances are lined up for 2012, I'll keep you informed !
Look out for my regular advert in WWII Re-enactors Magazine, and
occasionaly in Classic Military Vehicle Magazine. So, to book the most accurate, authentic
and professional 'MONTY' for your event anywhere, just contact me . . . at the double !!
